The commission for selecting candidates for the post of judge of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) on behalf of the Republic of Moldova decided to propose to the Government the first three candidates who got the largest score in the contest. These are Diana Scobioală, Vladimir Grosu and Nicolae Eşanu, who were selected on January 27, IPN reports.
Eleven of the 13 candidates for the post of ECHR judge, who met the eligibility criteria, were admitted to the second, interview stage of the contest.
The contest was announced by the Ministry of Justice on December 24. The competition is open to judges with the highest moral standing, jurists with recognized competency who have knowledge in the national legal system, public international law and have legal experience as practitioners.
