Caras insists Zimbru can do a double this season

Zimbru Chisinau's manager Ion Caras suggests that the current performance of leading Moldova's top league – the National Division – encourages them to hope that they can win both the national championship and Moldova's Cup this season. “We are in the lead now and I'm sure that if we keep on playing like that, Zimbru can be a menace to any club, including the National Division champion Sheriff Tiraspol”, Caras told Info-Prim Neo. When asked about the possibility of acquiring several players with more experience in the inter season transfer window, Caras said he saw no real reasons for such a decision. “We have enough gifted players and if we manage to defeat the front-runners, the current squad will be kept for the second part of the season as well”. Caras' statements came ahead of Sunday's clash at home with Iskra-Stal Rybnitsa. According to www.eurofotbal.info, Ion Caras said the match against Iskra Stal is crucial for Zimbru's title quest and also for the squad's morale. “We'll train hard for the match with Iskra. They have players who once were Zimbru pupils and they'll be motivated to show their best in the game. It will be a clash of pride and ambition”, declared Caras.
