Cart driver fatally injured in Calarasi

A 28-year-old man died last night when his cart was struck by a truck near Tibirica village of Calarasi district. The truck driver did not stop to help. He was arrested later near Sangerei town. He told the police he did not feel the impact. Vice commissioner of the Calarasi Traffic Police Veniamin Ghilan has told Info-Prim Neo that according to the preliminary investigations, the cart was moving legally when it was struck by the trailer of a truck. The truck was 20 meters long and the driver said he did not see the cart. The cart driver died on the spot. Two passengers of the cart – a man aged 34 and a six-year-old girl -were rushed to the district hospital with different injuries. After examined, the girl was discharged. The driver who committed the accident faces three to seven years in jail. The same night, a man aged 22 crashed his motorcycle into a pole at the entrance to Rumeantsev village of Cahul district as his brake failed. He did not survive.
