Case against young persons who killed Italian man in Moldova remitted to court

The Prosecutor General's Office sent to court the legal case opened against the young persons who persuaded an Italian to come to Moldova and then strangled him and took his property. The two men and the girl are charged with robbery and intentional murder, Info-Prim Neo reports. The Italian aged 64, who lived in the U.S., came to Moldova at the invitation of the 20-year-old girl, with whom he had talked over the Internet for several months. The girl, together with one of the young men who posed as a driver, met the Italian at the airport. They took him to a wood in Rezeni village, where the other accomplice was waiting. When they arrived in the wood, the two men beat the Italian, took his two mobile phones, the laptop, his clothes, €2.500, US$120 and 500 lei and then strangled him. The case was remitted to the court of Cimislia district. The woman and her partner have been earlier tried for theft and, respectively, drug distribution. The Italian man owned a chain of hotels in Italy, Cyprus and Greece.
