Jurists' Day is celebrated annually on October 19 in the Republic of Moldova. This professional holiday was established to recognize the crucial role jurists play in building the rule of law, ensuring justice, and defending human dignity, rights, and freedoms. High-ranking officials have sent messages of congratulations and appreciation, reports IPN.
Minister of Justice Veronica Mihailov-Moraru emphasized the importance of the legal profession not only as a vocation but as a mission to ensure the protection of human rights and the consolidation of the rule of law. “The quality of each jurist's work determines citizens' trust in state institutions and the overall image of justice. I extend my appreciation for your contribution to the development of the Republic of Moldova. Congratulations, and I wish you perseverance and great success,” the minister stated.
"The success of reforms does not depend solely on the adoption of correct laws, but also on their responsible and good-faith implementation. The fight against corruption, the modernization of the justice system, and the strengthening of public institutions would not be possible without your contribution. Each jurist’s work has a profound impact on our collective destiny. Every decision you make affects not only an individual but also the trust of an entire generation in the European future of our country,” added Veronica Mihailov.
The Director of the National Anti-Corruption Center, Alexandr Pînzari, also addressed his colleagues, urging them to continue their work "professionally, honestly, and with determination," focusing on combating corruption and promoting equality before the law.
"Be proud of the profession you've chosen and of our important mission—to prevent and fight corruption at all levels. I encourage you to carry out your work professionally, honestly, and with determination, thus ensuring the principle of equality for all before the law," said CNA head Alexandr Pînzari.
The legal profession has a significant impact on the proper functioning of institutions and is fundamental to maintaining the rule of law. Celebrating Jurists' Day in Moldova aligns with international practices of recognizing the importance of the legal system in ensuring social order and stability.
