The Government approved framework regulations concerning the organization and functioning of regional social assistance centers for persons with HIV/AIDS. The regulations include minimum quality standards and regulate the work of social public institutions created at regional level. They envision the standardization of the provided services, IPN reports.

According to a press release of the Ministry of Labor, Social Protection and Family, the document will ensure the sustainability of the created institutions and their aligning with the legislative requirements concerning the accreditation of services provided by regional social centers.

There are now three regional social assistance and protection centers for persons with HIV/AIDS, in Chisinau, Balti and Comrat, and one on the left bank of the Nistru, in Tiraspol. Their goal is to prevent the spread of HIV and to improve the quality of life of persons living with HIV by social inclusion and reemployment.
