Chain of accidents in Chisinau's Botanica district

Four cars were involved in a chain of road accident that happened at the intersection of Dacia Blvd. and Bucuresti St in Chisinau on April 8 in the evening. Tudor Capatana, of the Traffic Police Division's PR department, has told Info-Prim Neo that a Toyota driven by a 43-year-old man crashed into a Volkswagen-Passat that stopped at the traffic lights. The latter struck from behind a Mercedes minibus, which, for its part, hit a Citroen. Consequently, a woman aged 24, who was traveling in the Volkswagen, suffered contusion of the thorax, while her child sustained a concussion. Both were taken to the hospital. A child of only one year and a half from Sangerei ran out of the yard and was struck by a Volkswagen. The child suffered a concussion. An eight-year-old girl from Manta village of Cahul district was hit by a minibus when she wanted to cross the street. She suffered a fracture of the right clavicle and other traumas and was rushed to the hospital. A speeding cyclist aged 24 was struck by a Mercedes on the Chisinau-Ungheni route. The young man was taken to the hospital with a cranial-cerebral trauma, contusion and open fracture of the pelvic bones. Six persons were injured in five traffic accidents in Moldova on April 8. The other 27 accidents caused no victims. The traffic police identified 440 offenses.
