Charter flights from more than ten cities will be organized during the next two weeks. In a press briefing, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Oleg Țulea said the Moldovans will be brought home from London, Dublin, Madrid, Frankfurt, Brussels, Warsaw, Lisbon, Milan, Paris, Moscow, Rome, Amsterdam, and Prague, IPN reports.
In accordance with the decision taken by the Commission for Exceptional Situations, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration will compile lists of passengers based on the applications submitted to embassies, consulates and the Ministry by citizens who want to return to Moldova. Priority will be given to students, persons receiving medical treatment, persons who need to immediately return home and those who are short of funds and can no longer stay in the countries of residence. Oleg Țulea said the number of applications is “enormous”.
The Civil Aviation Authority, based on the lists that will be furnished to it weekly, will formulate proposals for compiling the timetable of charter flights to Moldova. The timetable will be submitted to the Commission for Exceptional Situations for approval. The Authority will also choose the airlines, will authorize them and will agree a minimum price of tickets.
Oleg Țulea said that during two weeks the Moldovan authorities managed to repatriate citizens from France, Russia, the UK, Turkey, Italy, Israel, Romania, Ukraine, Germany and other states. He called on the Moldovans who want to return home to inform themselves about the charter flights to Moldova through the websites of the Government, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration and diplomatic missions.
