The vehicle will be identified by checking the chassis, body and engine numbers only on the primary state registration and on the issuance of a new registration certificate as a result of the vehicle’s reequipment. This is stipulated in a draft law that was approved by the Cabinet on Wednesday, IPN reports.

“Currently, for changing the owner of a personal vehicle, 10 forms and personal presence are required for several times at particular institutions. This makes the service complicated. The draft law aims to exclude the multiple forms that need to be submitted and to also exclude the obligation to submit them to the authorities in order to obtain partial confirmatory documents,” Minister of the Interior Adrian Efros said at the Cabinet’s meeting.

According to him, the obligation to present the vehicle at the offices of the Public Services Agency for the provision of services to transfer of vehicle’s ownership is also excluded. Likewise, it will no longer be necessary to issue a copy of the vehicle registration certificate and deregistration certificate.

Also, the period of five working days offered for vehicle checks will be extended to 30 days.
