The Government of China offers Moldova a grant of 60 million Yuan (over 180 million lei) for creating a national integral telecommunications system that will interconnect all the information systems of the public administration authorities. The Government’s secretary general Serghei Palihovici had a meeting with the economic and commercial adviser of the Embassy of China in Moldova Xuejun Song where the two discussed the provision of the grant and the signing of the Agreement on Economic and Technical Cooperation between the two states, IPN reports.
According to the Government’s press service, the setting up of a governmental telecommunications system will enable to create a common information area of the state and the infrastructure needed for universal access. “We highly appreciate the assistance offered by China in very important areas for our country. The Government of Moldova is determined to take the measures needed to develop the national data transmission network,” stated Serghei Palihovici.
He noted that together with the reforms launched in different areas, the developed information infrastructure and data transmission network contribute to Moldova’s modernization.
In the meeting, the interlocutors welcomed the development of the bilateral relations. Xuejun Song reiterated the Chinese Government’s readiness to support the economic development of Moldova and to extend the mutually advantageous cooperation relations in the economic and technical sectors.
