The Chisinau Arena Complex will become operative at the end of next April. According to Minister of Economy and Infrastructure Anatol Usatyi, the facility can become serviceable only after its functionality according to the general purpose is fully ensured, IPN reports.
In a meeting with Government officials on December 13, the minister said the reports of all the network owners were examined. No problems are being faced in connecting the Arena to the gas, water supply, sewerage and electric power system. The facility will be connected to the network of roads in two stages.
The Chisinau Arena is built under a public-private partnership. It has a capacity of up to 5,000 seats and areas for sports, recreational and training activities, an Olympic swimming pool, a tennis court and spaces for exhibitions, conferences and meetings.
The Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office in October said it was investigating the alleged illegalities in the implementation of the public-private partnership contract for designing and building the Arena in Stăuceni commune of the municipality of Chisinau. Several persons were questioned. No other steps were made public.
