Chisinau Council will hold anniversary meeting on May 1

An anniversary meeting of the Chisinau Municipal Council will take place on May 1, where there will be presented an album about Nicolae Costin, the chairman of the first elected Council that worked during the first years of Moldova's independence (1990 – 1994), Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communique from the Association “Chisinau Municipal Council - 90” The Association's head Gheorghe Suruceanu said that among the invitees of the anniversary meeting will be Acting President Mihai Ghimpu, Prime Minister Vlad Filat, Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca and other officials as well as municipal councilors. The meeting will center on the first democratic changes that were initiated in Chisinau by the Municipal Council of the '1990s. The Association “Chisinau Municipal Council - 90” is a nonpolitical public organization that consists of former councilors elected democratically in 1990. It has over 100 members. The meeting will be held inside the Center of Culture and Art “Ginta Latina”.
