The state-owned enterprise Chisinau International Airport will be included in the list of assets that cannot be privatized. This was announced by the chairman of the parliamentary commission for economy, budget and finance Radu Marian, who registered in Parliament an amendment in this regard, IPN reports.
“This change will ensure that the airport remains state property and will correct an injustice committed under the previous governments. Also, this amendment will allow the Public Property Agency to relaunch the tender for renting spaces at the airport and impose more advantageous conditions to attract as many reputable companies as possible,” the PAS MP said in a press briefing.
According to him, for example, as a result of this change, it will be possible to extend the term for leasing out spaces from three to five years, which will make this tender contest more attractive. “As I said, in order to do this, an amendment is needed in Parliament, namely to include the airport in the list of state assets that are not subjected to privatization. I remind you that the Shor criminal group still controls particular commercial spaces at the airport. Obviously, this group must be banished from there and we will create all the conditions for this to happen as soon as possible,” noted Radu Marian.
Another amendment registered by the MEP provides for the postponement by three years of the entry into force of the presentation of the guarantee for economic operators working under inward processing arrangements. These are entrepreneurs who process raw materials to increase its added value without paying the import duty.
