Chisinau pensioners to be given parcels on Easter

The pensioners from the municipality of Chisinau who live on a monthly income lower than 1,450 lei will receive parcels with products from the local authorities before Easter, Info-Prim Neo reports. In the March 14 meeting of Chisinau City Hall officials, Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca said the pensioners whose monthly income is lower than the minimum consumer basket will be offered social assistance in the form of parcels on Easter. According to the mayor, the parcels will contain Easter bread, poultry, oil, grain and other products. Dorin Chirtoaca instructed the municipal divisions in charge to equally distribute the available 4-5 million lei and decide exactly what the parcel will contain. The products that will be included in the parcel will be bought wholesale so as to benefit from discounts. There are about 60,000 pensioners in Chisinau who live on an income lower than the minimum consumer basket.
