Chisinau residents invited to build a city from … people

Tonka Malekovic, a young artist from Croatia who is in Chisinau on a visit, invites the inhabitants of the capital city to participate in building a city from people. The event is set to take place in front of the fountain near the National Palace on Friday, starting at 19.00. The action is part of the Possibility of the City Project initiated in cooperation with Ion Fisticanu, a student at the Creativity and Inventions High School “Prometeu-Prim”. The results of the event will be announced on Friday evening in Chisinau and then in the Croatian capital of Zagreb. The CHIOSC project is designed to promote contemporary art and youth culture in public space, to encourage active participation of diverse social groups representing often marginalized or less visible domains by putting at their disposal a public platform for expression, etc. The CHIOSC project receives support from the European Cultural Foundation, Cultural Department of the Chisinau City Hall, Centru and Buiucani districts of Chisinau, the French Alliance in Moldova, the Romanian Cultural Institute through CANTEMIR Program (2008), the Latin Union (Office in Moldova), Henkel Romania, CEC ArtsLink, and Gulliver Connect.
