Moldova will host the European Beach Rugby Championship, which will take place from August 31 to September 1 at the La Izvor Arena in Chisinau.
“We are proud to be the hosts of this event and to prove that the Republic of Moldova can organize high-level sports competitions. The Ministry of Education and Research financially supported the organization of this championship, investing in logistics and promotion, to ensure excellent conditions for both participants and spectators”, said Sergiu Gurin, state secretary at the Ministry of Education and Research.
“This initiative is part of the national sports development strategy Sport-2030, with which we aim to increase interest in sports and physical activities, discover and encourage young talents and promote a healthy lifestyle”, Gurin added.
The Ministry allocated 2.5 million lei for the event.
It is for the second time that Moldova hosts this prestigious tournament. The previous edition was held in Chisinau in 2021.
