Chisinau Traffic Police put fines of 570,000 lei during a week

The Chisinau Traffic Police imposed fines of about 570,000 lei between October 19 and 26. Twelve drivers caught under the influence remained without licenses for a period of three years, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the General Police Commissariat. The fines for traveling unbuckled and without motorcycle helmet put on 98 drivers totaled 31,000 lei. Three drivers speaking over the phone while driving were fined 300 to 400 lei and penalized three points each. The fines for speeding imposed on 195 motorists came to 91,000 lei. Other fines were put for not allowing the pedestrians to cross the street at crosswalks, stopping or parking in forbidden places and for ignoring the traffic lights. A sum of 144,860 lei of the fines of 569,280 lei imposed in this period was paid during the first 72 hours, when the fine is halved. There were also put 3,510 penalty points.
