More than 40 managers of the Chisinau housing stock received orders to pay a total debt of about 6 million lei to the municipal water supplier. Other managers had property or bank accounts sequestrated, IPN reports.
According to a communiqué of S.A. “Apa-Canal Chisinau”, the bailiff has the right to regularly examine the headquarters and other rooms and storehouses belonging to the managers, at the public utility’s request. In order to avoid additional expenses, such as the state tax of 3% of the debt, the bailiff’s debt of 10% of the sum and the court decision implementation costs, the water supplier urges the manager to repay the debts as soon as possible.
The legislation provides that penalties and overdue interest are calculated when the managers delay settling the debts.
