Christian-Evangelist-Baptist school in Sangereii Noi closed

The Christian-Evangelist-Baptist school in Sangereii Noi village of Sangerei district was closed. The Education Ministry’s decision will remain in force until the school’s administration submits the set of documents needed to register the institution, Info-Prim Neo reports. The school had worked for nine years without foundation documents as a branch of the Theoretical High School “Alecu Russo” working in Sangerei district. The administration of the school was asked to present the necessary documents by October 29. “The administration and the parents lodged only a petition, whereby they ask the Education Ministry to allow the school to continue work,” Elena Rusu, deputy head of the Education Ministry’s Preschool and General Education Division, told Info-Prim Neo. According to Elena Rusu, the children who studied at the Christian-Evangelist-Baptist school can attend the Theoretical High School “Alecu Russo. “However, the parents refuse to allow their children to go there. They say they will form assemblies, where the children will be taught the subjects they consider necessary,” Rusu said. Elena Rusu also said that the director of the Theoretical High School “Alecu Russo” Ion Railean is under investigation as he did not inform the relevant bodies about the existence of the Evangelist school. Ludmila Sascanu, the head of the General Education Division of Sangerei district, said the diplomas of the 13 graduates of the Evangelist school are valid as the exams were monitored by an external commission, not by the teachers of the school. Eighty-five children studied at the school, 51 of whom in the ninth-twelfth grades.
