The Cabinet approved amendments to the regulations concerning the indexation and payment of indexed amounts for the deposits made by private individuals in Banca de Economii (Savings Bank). One of the provisions refers to the method of paying the indexed sums when the deposits were left as inheritance. These amounts will be paid by Moldova’s Post Office based on the submitted application, according to a timetable approved by the Government, IPN reports.
Moldova’s Post Office is authorized not only to pay the sums, but also to calculate them when there are several heirs. This is done based on the heir’s application to which the legal heir certificate or the legalized notarial copy of this certificate is attached.
In 2019, indexed sums were paid to the depositors of Banca de Economii born before 1981, for the first indexation stage, and to those born before 1947, for the second indexation stage.
The indezation process was laucnhed in 2003. At the first stage, the depositors receive by 1,000 lei for the first 1,000 Soviet roubles. The rest of the sums are indexed according to the ratio 1 leu: 2.5 roubles.
