Tatiana Benu, a dweller of the apartment building situated at 71/7 Gheorghe Asachi St, accuses the company that erected the budding – Glorinal – of violating the legislation and of selling 98 apartments instead of 80, Info-Prim Neo reports. In a news conference on Thursday, Tatiana Benu said she paid €22,000 for a two-room apartment and she encountered a number of problems when she moved to it. She complained the equipment that moves the elevator is situated above her apartment and it makes a lot of noise. Also, there is no ventilation system in the apartment and there appeared mold. “The company's administration said these are not their problems and if I'm not contented they can refund the sum stated in the contract, i.e. €15,000 not €22,000 – the sum that I paid,” she said. Tatiana Benu said she conducted investigations and established that the changes to the project were not approved and the number of built apartments was increased illegally. She also said she filed a complaint to the Chisinau Prosecutor's Office in 2006, but a legal case over the violation of the construction rules was opened only in 2008. The case is to be examined by the Supreme Court of Justice. Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, the head of Glorinal's Law and Human Resources Division Sergiu Gaina said the conflict with Tatiana Benu, who considers the company did not fulfill its obligations, started in 2006 when a criminal case was opened and then closed. “She complained about the persons who closed that case and a new case was opened and then closed,” he said. Sergiu Gaina also said that they carried out rerun examinations, but Tatiana Benu challenged their results. The Chisinau Prosecutor's Office ordered verifying all the financial records, but no violation was identified, said the jurist.
