The National Anticorruption Center (CNA) remitted one of the criminal cases started over the violation of the lending rules at Banca de Economii (BEM) to the prosecutors. There are five accused persons in this case, including the former president of the BEM Grigore Gacikevici, IPN has learned from the CNA.
During investigations, it was established that the bank’s Lending Committee granted five loans to the value of €4.53 million and over 3.95 million lei to a company by breaking the rules. In order to restore the money, the CNA sequestrated assets to the value of over 13 million lei.
The investigations into the other cases over the delinquent loans at the BEM go on.
