The Cabinet approved a legislative initiative to amend the Labor Code that was submitted by MPs. The amendments regulate the procedure for reconciling the sides involved in a collective workplace conflict.
Thus, if the members of the conciliation commission reach an agreement over the claims formulated by the representatives of salary earners, within five working days the commission adopts a decision that is mandatory for the conflicting parties and issues this to them within 24 hours of the adoption, IPN reports.
In the current form, the Labor Code does not specify a deadline for examining collective conflicts at work. The bill authors suggest setting a period of ten workdays for reconciling the conflicting parties, with the possibility of extending this period by at most five workdays.
