Natalia Vysotina on March 16 announced that she decided to leave the Communist group on the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC). The group’s head Vasile Chirtoca thanked Vysotina for her activity during two years and a half as part of the group. In another development, Chirtoca said the Party of Communists decided to dissolve the Communist group on the CMC and he and his colleague Gennady Botnaru will work further as unaffiliated councilors, IPN reports.
“Neither I nor Gennady Botnaru plan to work as part of the PCRM or any other party. We do not intend to run in the May elections,” stated Vasile Chirtoca.
“We understand party member Natalia Vysotina’s decision to withdraw from the group. This is a method by which the party starts its election campaign where it must bank on its members.”
The councilor thanked the leader of the PCRM Vladimir Voronin for enabling him to work for the benefit of Chisinau. “Together with Gennady Botnaru, we will continue to serve on the Municipal Council. We have many ideas how to improve life in the capital city and, in the period that remained till the end of our terms in office, we will make effort to bring maximal benefits to Chisinau and its citizens,” said Vasile Chirtoca, who was the Communists’ candidate in the mayoral elections in Chisinau municipality of June 2015.
