The Communists Party (PCRM) is dissatisfied with the way the chair's posts of the parliamentary commissions were distributed at the Parliament's meeting on Wednesday. “This is a farce and a disrespect for the opposition”, stated PCRM spokesperson Sergei Sirbu. The Communists are upset in particular that they are “in absolute minority” in all the commissions, especially in the key commissions, like that responsible for appointments and legal matters and the budget&finance commission. “We have been left without any lever. And the chair's posts in these commissions in this case also represent merely an administrative function, of chairing a meeting and signing the recordings. Every effort was made to limit the rights of the opposition”, declared Sirbu. According to Sirbu, it would have been fair if the opposition had the majority in the commissions it chairs, in order to be able to influence the decision making, especially when approving bills. The PCRM deputies will chair 4 out of 10 parliamentary commissions: Human and Inter-ethnic Rights (Vadim Misin); Public Administration and Regional Development (Eduard Musuc), Agriculture and Food Industry (Gherghe Popa) and Environment (Violeta Ivanov).
