The Communist parliamentary group registered a draft decision by which they demand that Iurie Ciocan should be dismissed from the post of chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) and asked that this decision should be included in the agenda of the November 20 sitting of Parliament. The Socialist group asked for a pause to distribute a drafted decision on the dismissal of Speaker Andrian Candu to all the MPs, IPN reports.
Communist MP Anatolie Zagorodnyi said that after the November 19 hearings on the holding of parliamentary and local elections, Parliament should have adopted a decision on the activity of the CEC, in particular of Iurie Ciocan. As this wasn’t done, the Communists proposed firing Ciocan, but their proposal didn’t garner the number of votes needed for being included in the agenda.
The Socialist lawmakers asked that the Speaker should introduce the package of laws on agriculture in the agenda. As their proposal was rejected for the reason that the given package hadn’t been endorsed by the Government, the Socialists asked for a pause so that all the MPs could familiarize themselves with their draft decision on the dismissal of Candu.
