Communists 'won't allow' an AIE replica in Gagauz legislature

The Communist candidates running for the Gagauz autonomy's legislative body say they won't allow the creation of a replica of the Alliance for European Integration in the People's Assembly. The statement was made on Friday, on the last day of the election campaign before the first round of the elections takes place on Sunday, Info-Prim Neo reports. The Communist Party said in a press statement that its candidates promise to strengthen Gagauzia's autonomy both legally and politically. They also pledge to defend Moldova's sovereignty, statehood and independence. The Communist candidates further promised that they won't allow falsifications of history, the denigration of the Soviet past and the destruction of monuments which honor the victory in WWII. The statement also says that, if elected to the People's Assembly, the Communist candidates will promote the idea of holding a referendum on Moldova's accession to the Russia-Belarus-Kazakhstan Customs Union.
