A temporary consultative council for preventing the violation of the rights of refugees will be created under the Ombudsperson’s Office. The Council is to identify and deal with the risks of abuse, harassment, trafficking in human beings or violence to which women, men and children who found refuge in the Republic of Moldova owing to the war in Ukraine can be exposed, IPN reports.
The mission of the consultative council will collect information, will monitor the official and ad-hoc accommodation places and will report violations of the rights of refugees.
To efficiently organize the activity of the competent multidimensional teams, the Ombudsperson’s Office will invite representatives of civil society, civic activists, representatives of state institutions and international organizations to form part of the council.
At the current stage, the Ombudsperson’s Office is designing the regulations of the council.
