Piotr Guțul, who heads the National Public Association “Consumer Protection”, said the newly formed Parliament and Government are legitimate and compliant with the Constitution. The people who now stay in tents in front of a number of state institutions are not aware of what is going on and went there only for money.
In a news conference at IPN, Piotr Guțul said the new government was formed also owing to the involvement of the association he represents. On March 3 this year, representatives of the Association sent an official invitation to visit Moldova to the leadership of the European Parliament, including through embassies working in Chisinau. As a result, a number of foreign officials came to Moldova, including from the EU, the U.S. and Russia.
Piotr Guțul called on President Igor Dodon not to make the people rise up against the people. According to him, it would be better if the President requested his Romania, Ukrainian and Russian counterparts to introduce peacekeeping forces into Moldova so as to unblock such state institutions as the Government, the Ministry of the Interior and the Prosecutor’s Office and to prevent a civil war.
As to the activity of the Association “Consumer Protection”, Piotr Guțul said last year its representatives carried out searches in over 150 shops and identified cases of sale of counterfeit alcoholic beverages brought from a Tiraspol factory. They requested the Prime Minister to order an inquiry, but received no answer.
