The consumers who notified the Agency for Consumer Protection and Market Surveillance last year got back over 1 million lei for noncompliant products. The Agency said it weekly received by up to 45 complaints. Most of the times, the disputes were resolved by amicable ways and the consumers received the equivalent value of the purchased noncompliant products, IPN reports.
According to the Agency, the complainers received the equivalent value of different products, such as washing machines, electrical stoves, TV sets, mobile phones, furniture, clothing, etc. The largest sum was refunded for incompliant cellphones - about 152,000 lei.
A sum of 93,000 lei was refunded for domestic appliances, about 60,000 lei for furniture and only 6.8 lei for an osier basket bought at a supermarket in Chisinau.
The Agency said such cases show that regardless of the invested sum, the consumers take attitude and claim rights, seeking the equivalent value of the purchased products.
In 2018, the consumers filed 1,700 complaints to the Agency for Consumer Protection and Market Surveillance.
