The European Union invites representatives of local civil society organizations (SCOs) to take part in a contest of grants. In the framework of the project “Civil society contributes to inclusive and sustainable economic development of country”, the European Union will offer financing of up to €50,000 per project, it is said on the Facebook page of the European Union Delegation to the Republic of Moldova, IPN reports.

The contest is held through the agency of East Europe Foundation with the assistance of Sweden, in partnership with the European Business Association and Contact Center, and will support consortiums of SCOs in developing inclusive employment services for vulnerable groups. The deadline for submitting project proposals to the email address is February 21, 23:59pm.

The project will last for 40 months and is designed to contribute to Moldova’s economic development by actively engaging civil society and other interested sides, taking into account the provisions of the Association Agreement with the EU, which includes the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement. At least ten consortiums of SCOs will be supported to create and develop inclusive employment services for vulnerable groups so as to extend the employment opportunities for these groups.

The grants program “Civil society contributes to inclusive and sustainable economic development of country” will assist at least 30 local NGOs to create targeted consortiums to develop innovatory inclusive employment services for vulnerable groups and to create social-professional integration opportunities for these groups, which will later contribute to the wellbeing of the citizens and communities. Such an approach will enable smaller SCOs to cooperate and to learn from larger, established organizations.
