The Youth Peer Education Network Y-PEER Moldova announces a contest to select participants in the National Social Theater Festival. Teams of young people concerned about the problems of their mates can apply to take part for presenting a social theater play, IPN reports.
In a press release, the Ministry of Youth and Sport says the 30 teams of young people that will be selected this year will benefit from training in social theater techniques, sexual and reproductive health and risky behaviors in adolescence. The training session for a team will last for a day. Afterward, the young people will create and put on social theater plays in their community.
Ten teams with the largest number of presentations will take part in the National Social Theater Festival that will take place in Ialoveni town this November.
The teams selected to take part in the festival will present by a social theater play of 10 minutes in front of a public of over 400 young people, parents and teachers. The National Social Theater Festival 2016 centers on sexual and reproductive health, including prevention of sexually transmitted diseases and HIV, unwanted pregnancies, risky behavior, problems during teenage years and responsibility for family life.
The teams of young people who want to take part in the Festival can submit application forms, which can be found on the Ministry’s website, to the email address ypeer@ypeer.md by June 30.
The National Social Theater Festival is organized by the Youth Peer Education Network Y-PEER Moldova with the assistance of the Ministry of Youth and Sport and the United Nations Population Fund in Moldova.
