The Court of Accounts has found that the Costesti Village Hall, Ialoveni District, misrepresented financial information by undervaluing land assets and making errors in revenue reporting and repair accounting, IPN reports.

According to the Court of Accounts' reports, revenues and funding were underestimated by at least 51 million lei.

Out of the 1,697 hectares of land recorded in the land report, only 282 hectares are reflected in the Real Estate Register as local public property.

Additionally, capital repair works worth 909,000 lei were not capitalized, leading to an undervaluation of the "Buildings" account by 523,000 lei.

Another key issue highlighted in the report is the insufficient management of public assets by the local authorities in Costesti. The report notes that proper procedures for inventory, allocation, and registration of public assets were not ensured.

When contacted by IPN, representatives of Costesti City Hall stated that they are unable to provide a response at this time. The Court of Accounts has issued a list of recommendations, which the Costesti administration has committed to implementing.
