A married couple from a village of Nisporeni district were sentenced to 7 and, respectively 12 years in jail for drug trafficking. The Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime and Special Cases said the two are aged 44 and 51. In April 2019, an agent under cover bought almost 1 kilogram of heroin from the man, IPN reports.
The drugs were smuggled into Moldova from Turkey. The woman was caught selling heroin in Chisinau.
The judgment passed by the Buiucani Court of Chisinau can be challenged. The accomplices of the couple continue being investigated.
