Court decision on CMC vote recount to be pronounced Monday

The Centru District Court on Monday, July 11, is to announce its decision on the outcome of a vote recount for the election of the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC), Info-Prim Neo reports. Under the Local Administration Law, the inaugural session of the newly elected Council is to be convoked within 20 days from the validation of election results. The votes for the CMC were recounted on June 30 at the Liberal Party's request, but the recount didn't produce any changes in the distribution of seats in the CMC and, as a result, the Communist Party continues to have 26 councilor's posts, the Liberal Party 17 posts, the Liberal-Democratic Party 7 posts, and the Democratic Party 1 post.
