Justice Minister Oleg Efrim suspended a court enforcement officer from duty after the Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office charged him with embezzlement and falsification of public documents, Info-Prim Neo learned from a MoJ press release.
Ruslan Gorobet is accused of appropriating nearly 60,000 euros of confiscated crime money over the period 2009-2011. After criminal proceedings were started against him, Gorobet gave the money to avoid charges, but he presented different bills.
The officer is also accused on making clearly false entries in a court order, which helped him obtain a profit of $6,000. This money was also returned, but again in different bills than the original ones.
Concurrently with the criminal case, Oleg Efrim notified the Disciplinary Council of Court Enforcement Officers, which is to decide whether Gorobet should also receive a disciplinary sanction.
