Court orders Mocanu to pay $120,000 to Plahotniuc

The Rascani District Court has required Sergiu Mocanu, leader of the Anfimafia People’s Movement, to pay $120,000 to Vlad Plahotniuc, vice president of the Democratic Party, as reparation for defamation, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to a press release from the Antimafia People’s Movement, the court also ruled that Vlad Plahtoniuc should be paid 50,000 lei in respect of non-pecuniary damage and 70,000 for court costs. Additionally, Sergiu Mocanu has been required to pay 100,000 lei for each accusation against Vlad Plahotniuc that wasn’t publicly denied, meaning an overall 400,000 lei. The press release doesn’t inform whether the judgment will be appealed.
