Nine persons diagnosed with COVID-19 lost the battle with the disease today, May 14. As many as 194 persons who contracted the novel coronavirus died in Moldova by now, IPN reports.
Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection Viorica Dumbrăveanu said that 147 new infections with COVOD-19 were detected on May 14 and 26 of these are among healthcare workers.
Twenty-one infected persons in critical condition were put on a ventilator. Of the others infected, 269 are in a serious state.
Fifty-two persons got cured and were discharged from the hospital today. The number of those who recovered stands at 2,228.
According to Svetlana Lupu, head of the Hospital Medical Assistance Policies Division, 61 more cases of infection were reported at the placement center for persons with mental disabilities in Bădiceni, Soroca. A part of those infected were admitted to the hospital in Bălți, while the others are supervised at the center. Twelve medical workers of the center got COVID-19. Three of them were admitted to the Soroca District Hospital, while the rest undergo treatment at home.
At the hospital in Ceadîr-Lunga, 17 medical workers got infected. Twenty patients continue to be treated under intensive care and are permanently supervised. The infectious diseases section is being adjusted for treating persons with COVID-19.
