The Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection requested the World Health Organization (WHO) to become involved in monitoring the conditions of hospitalization and provision of medical assistance to patients with COVID-19 in the Transnistrian region, IPN reports.
“In the current conditions, we should adopt a similar approach to both sides of the Nistru so that the persons who are in a serious state on the left side be referred to specialized institutions in the municipality of Chisinau – at the National Clinical Hospital and the Emergency Medicine Institute,” Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection Viorica Dumbrăveanu stated in a press briefing.
She voiced hope that the given aspect will be coordinated and the doctors will be able to provide qualified medical assistance to the Moldovan citizens from the left side of the Nistru as well.
The novel coronavirus has claimed five lives in Moldova to date. Two of the persons were from the Transnistrian region.
