The apartments in Cricova are being inspected, due to the visit of German Chancellor Angela Merkel to Chisinau. “Based on the apartments, we make up a resident list, in order to see if there are any people who rent, that may be of interest to the police, who have previously been tried”, stated Cricova District Police Chief Ion Baltag, for Info-Prim Neo. Security officers will be dispatched along the route of official delegation towards the Wine Factory. The Cricova District Police Chief mentioned that there will be no restrictions or interdictions ordered to the city’s residents. The road segment that is usually used by official delegations, dubbed “Ministerskaya” (Russian for “of the Ministry”) by local residents, has been closed for over a month now. Ion Baltag claims that it is the object of a court trial, but the road will be open on August 22. Minister of Interior Dorin Recean stated today, August 17, at a press conference, that it is an international practice to inspect the residential fund and all other objectives adjacent to the itinerary of high-rank delegations. Technical details regarding the routes, as well as the objectives to be visited by the German Chancellor, were promised to be published by the Ministry on Tuesday, August 21.
