Culture of China presented in a photo exhibition at National Library

More than 60 photographs showing the culture of China were displayed in an exhibition at the National Library in Chisinau. The exhibit titled “The most beautiful China” was staged in connection with the 64th anniversary of the proclamation of the People’s Republic of China.

In the opening of the exhibition, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Moldova Tong Mingtao said that in the last 35 years China covered a successful path to forming a rich and democratic culture and the pictures objectively show the efforts made by the Chinese Government to ensure the country’s development and prosperity so as to built ‘the most beautiful China”. The photos also show the nicest sights, customs and traditions of China.

The diplomat also said that the relations of friendship between China and Moldova have a long history, while the intercultural exchange is of major importance in promoting the cooperation between the two states. He expressed his readiness to continue these traditions of intercultural cooperation.

National Library director Alexe Rau said the Republic of Chinua is often present in the national cultural programs. Over the last years, the Chinese Government offered consignments of books about culture, civilization, science and industry that represent valuable literature for the Moldovan readers.

The exhibited photos are colored and in large format. They have been produced by Chinese professional and amateur photographers this year. They familiarize the public with the history, culture, reforms and innovations of China.

The residents of Chisinau expressed great interest in the exhibit. The exhibition hall turned out to be not large enough for the visitors.

The exhibit “The most beautiful China” was mounted by the Embassy of China in Chisinau. It will continue for two weeks. Entrance is free of charge.
