The Czech Republic provided 38 persons with locomotor disabilities from Moldova with wheelchairs. The donation was made through the Czech Embassy in Moldova at the initiative of the “Taur’’ Association of Persons with Disabilities, Info-Prim Neo reports. “Charity is necessary. Moldova is for the time being a poor country and we want to help you so that you are later able to help those in need too. I think that we will achieve good results by mutual support and will soon be together in the EU,” said Czech Ambassador to Moldova Jaromir Kvapil. The donation includes sports and orthopedic wheelchairs. The Czech diplomat said they were taken to the persons selected by the Association “Taur”. A wheelchair costs about €350. Attending the event, Deputy Minister of Health Gheorghe Turcanu said the Ministry of Health knows how important the social integration of disabled persons is, but the state does not have money to deal with all their problems. According to the Ministry of Health, there are over 1,200 persons who need wheelchairs in Moldova.
