The gas pipe section between Saiti and Opaci villages of Causeni district, which was damaged by an explosion on Sunday, November 8, was put into operation. The head of Moldovagaz’s press office Andrei Aculov told Info-Prim Neo that the gas supply will be resumed by November 15. Prime Minister Vlad Filat traveled to the scene on Tuesday, November 10. After visiting the place, he chaired a meeting centering on the liquidation of the consequences of the explosion in Causeni town, the Government’s press service informs. According to officials of Moldovagaz, the period during which the consumers will be connected depends on them as they will have to be at home and allow the employees of the services in charge to connect them. The explosion caused damage estimated at about 3.5 million lei. The losses of gas account for approximately 2 million lei of this, while the losses sustained after installing the new pipe and the losses suffered by the land owners for about 1.5 million lei. Vlad Filat demanded that the land owners be paid compensations for the losses, while the persons who made effort to liquidate the consequences of the explosion be awarded. The explosion on the Razdelinaia-Ismail gas main happened early in the morning. All the settlements of Stefan-Voda district and several settlements of Causeni district remained disconnected from the gas supply. The governmental commission that is investigating the incident will render a report next week. Supposedly, the explosion occurred because the pipe was in a worn condition.
