A large number of passports issued to Romanian citizens in the Republic of Moldova have not been collected from the Romanian Consulate in Chișinău. In a press conference held on November 1, Daniel Ioniță, the ambassador of Romania to Chișinău, said that, in the context of the Romanian presidential elections, the holders of these passports can collect them without prior programming on November 4, 5 and 6, between 14:00 and 15:00.

"The consular sections of Romania in Chișinău, Cahul and Bălți will
not provide services to the public over the course of the Friday before election day and Monday after election day. Consular emergency services will be provided, however, consular staff will not be able to provide other services, because our people will be engaged in other activities, while the consular sections will be transformed into polling stations", said Daniel Ioniță.

According to the ambassador, 25 Romanian citizens from the Republic of Moldova have chosen to vote
via correspondence. The Romanian ambassador to Chișinău said that these citizens may send the envelope with the voting option until November 7.

Daniel Ioniță said that participation in the Romanian presidential election is a right of all Romanian citizens in the Republic of Moldova. "It is important that we all value democracy, which must be supported in such cases", said Daniel Ioniță.

Romanian citizens located in Moldova can cast their votes in the Romanian presidential election in 37 polling stations. An absolute novelty for this election cycle is the fact that Romanian citizens outside  Romania can vote over the course of three days, on November 8, 9 and 10.
