The deadline for refunding the paid extra income tax will be April 1 for the applications submitted online and June 1 for the applications presented on paper. Now there is a common April 1 deadline, IPN reports, quoting the draft fiscal and customs policy for 2017 proposed for public consultations.
The Ministry of Finance said such a change is needed because the refunding starting with April 1 for the previous year implies additional costs for taxpayers as they must lose more time for obtaining documents showing what incomes they earned. For their part, the fiscal authorities face the risk of incorrectly determining the sum that must be refunded.
According to the Ministry, practice shows that the about 189,000 statements that are received from taxpayers-private individuals are usually processed by the end of May.
