The Ministry of Finance said it held six auctions to place state securities on the market during December 2019 – January 2020 and the investors’ demand at some of these exceeded the supply even six times, IPN reports.
According to the Ministry, the increased demand resulted in the diminution of the interest rates on all types of state securities. This was 5.68% on average, by 1 percentage point lower compared with the auctions held in November 2019.
The decrease in interest rates on state securities will have positive effects on the state budget costs incurred when servicing the state debt.
