The sustainable development of countries is ensured also by the women’s participation in the decision-making process and this is not a whim of women, but a necessity of the present time, Democratic MP Valentina Stratan said in the closure of the third Public Forum “Partnership for an Inclusive and Prosperous Moldova – Women Count!” that was held in Chisinau on March 28, IPN reports.
“I have taken part in this event the third time. Even if we ascertained that there are problems that repeat from year to year, we also noted that some of the problems already started to be solved, especially in the recent past. If we systematize the problems, we will notice the social problems, starting with those faced by the children and ending with those of the elderly women,” stated the lawmaker.
According to Valentina Stratan, all the women MPs can now say with pride that they managed to constitute a communication platform of women MPs. “All the problems identified with your assistance will be first discussed within this platform. We want draft laws initiated by women MPs as these bills will be passed by Parliament swifter. For some problems we need time, while for others we need neither time, nor money, but only organization. In parts we need political will, but I think that it will be now easier to pass these proposals through the parliamentary groups,” she stated.
The official added that the sustainable development of counties is ensured by the women’s participation in decision-making as well and the Democratic parliamentary group will support first of all the bill on gender quotas as this will help solve other related problems experienced by women.
