Dozens of people gathered on Tuesday in the Great National Assembly Square for a demonstration against the war in Ukraine. They painted two wooden figurines, echoing anti tank hedgehogs, in the colors of the Ukrainian flag, blue and yellow.

The demonstrators held posters saying “Stop the war”, “Hands off Ukraine” and others. The participants wanted to show their solidarity with the Ukrainian people who are going through extremely difficult times.

It is the sixth day of the war that Russia is waging in Ukraine, in which intense bombings are taking place on the main Ukrainian cities, with casualties among troops, but also civilians.

The Moldovan authorities have simplified rules for Ukrainian refugees crossing the Moldovan borders. According to updated data, over 41,000 Ukrainians are in Moldova. Refugees can call the toll-free line 08-000-15-27 if they need guidance on accommodation and completion of documents. Members of the public or businesses willing to help Ukrainian refugees are encouraged to call the toll-free line 080080011.
