Department of Penitentiary Institutions officers take part in flood clean-up

The Department of Penitentiary Institutions will dispatch 100 officers to the flood-hit villages Nemteni and Cotul Morii of Hancesti district to participate in the clean-up there. The Ministry of Justice offered special equipment and vehicles that can be used in the inaccessible areas, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communique from the Ministry. A mobile group composed of employees of the Rusca penitentiary No. 7 are working to build and fortify the protection barrages in Nemteni and Cotul Morii. Minister of Justice Alexandru Tanase also traveled to the flood-stricken areas. He said the Ministry provided humanitarian aid, including bread, water and essentials, for the persons affected by floods. About 700 houses have been inundated in Hancesti district, with 1,700 inhabitants being evacuated.
