After presenting their reports on the events on April 7, 2009, to the Parliament, the heads of the Security and Intelligence Service, the Ministry of the Interior and the Prosecutor General’s Office were assailed with questions by deputies. However, their answers failed to please either the Alliance or the opposition, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Most questions referred to the organizers of the events on April 7 and the way the police had assured public order. Prosecutor General Valeriu Zubco avoided answering most questions, claiming he was protecting the prosecution secrets. He added that some deputies were witnesses and couldn’t be offered additional information about the investigation. Among those witnesses are PCRM’s Artur Resetnicov, PLDM’s Mihail Godea and Chiril Lucinschi and PL’s Mihai Ghimpu. The latter was absent from the Parliament session.
Some deputies asked whether the events of April 7 should be labeled as a coup d’état or a revolution, which was a subject of great speculation for mass media and political leaders. Prosecutor Valeriu Zubco said that a definite answer would be given only after the examination of all files.
Many deputies declared that reports presented by the Prosecutor General, Valeriu Zubco, by the SIS vice-director, Valentin Dediu, and by the Minister of the Interior, Alexei Roibu, were shallow and didn’t shed any light on the events of April 7, 2009. Communist deputies accused the investigation structures of intentionally hiding information that would compromise the current governing alliance, which was allegedly guilty of what happened then.
